A huge thank you to Julie Pattemore, Assistant Director at the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment and Trent Clews de Castella, Co Founder and CEO at Phoria for joining us on Future Byte Episode 2. Really great feedback from our young listeners!
Julie leads a team of plant scientists, plant pathologists and molecular biologists at Australia’s (PEQ) facility in Mickleham, Victoria and at the Melbourne Airport.
It was fascinating to learn about the importance of screening of plants being potentially introduced into our country. Such important work to ensure that plants with diseases don’t contaminate our primary industries and environment.
Trent has spent the last decade of his career harnessing immersive technologies for social and environmental impact. He previously served as a leading creative for Webby Award-Winning “REWILD Our Planet” with Netflix and as Executive Producer for “Ecosphere” (2020) with Oculus, WWF and Silverback Films. Currently , “Ecosphere” is being downloaded 50, 000 times per month since its launch with users complimenting the work as “The best VR 180 captures I’ve ever seen”.
It was fascinating to learn how immersive technologies are being employed in such a variety of different use cases.
Both Julie and Trent share their very unique career journeys that are certainly not linear. Julie, we loved hearing about your passion for motorbikes and particularly the Ducati!
Truly inspirational to have both these experts in their own right share their journey with our young audience.
