A Day of AI and Robotics, a Day of Inspiration – Well done Cornish College!
Robots, Drones, AI it was all happening at Cornish College last Thursday. It was so good to see the entire Yr 7 cohort engage with Industry professionals sharing unique use cases for AI, Robotics and Drones.
I wonder what will come of what was seeded last Thursday. The opportunities are really only limited by one’s imagination. You could see students being really encouraged to get creative and curious.
It was great to see Nicci Rossouw from Exaptec share her telerobot with the students. Nicci was joined by Pearl Li Ng from Aurecon and together they were interviewed by Gemma Wildermuth, student at Cornish College and also an RTL Student Leader. Great to hear how all 3 ladies were inspired to take up roles in STEM.
Then in the afternoon, Mauricio Ferrando, a drone pilot for XM2 brought in not just one but many drones of differing sizes. He then shared many use cases for the drones.
At the end of the day students worked on teams to come up with a prototype that uses AI to enhance the schooling experience.
Cornish College were the first school to take up RTL’s Adopt an Engineer. It’s so good to see students being inspired to take up STEM and receive ongoing support on a range of diverse applications from Prep to Year 12.
