So great to see girls from Melbourne Girls College and Sirius College at the SSSI 2022 Victorian Surveying and Spatial Summit

Thank you Jules Blundell from Shemaps for the invitation to join you at the SSSI 2022 Victorian Surveying & Spatial Summit on Thursday. So good to see you working with SSSI to invite girls at school to an industry event. Your presentations with the girls were really inspiring and showcased many use cases for drones. So good to share these presentations in the context of the Summit. A huge shout out to Richard Syme, Chair at SSSI for their support of Shemaps. So good to see this focus on the next generation and helping young people see real world applications of STEM in the workplace.

I also loved hearing about the emerging role of Digital Twins and the Metaverse in the surveying industry. Thank you Fabrice Marre at Aerometrex, Ana Belgun at CSIRO’s Data61 and Michael De Lacy at Woolpert Company for your keynotes on these topics that explore Mixed Reality in the context of Surveying.
