The Collective Genius trumps AI

So good to be collaborating with passionate Maths Educators, Undergraduates, Industry Professionals and Students at Flinders Christian Community College on Friday.

Whilst we all love technology and many are leaning into AI, you can’t substitute opportunities to exchange ideas and collaborate.
I’m so grateful to be working at Flinders Christian Community College that embraces such opportunities.
Real Time Learning, my non for profit partners with Industry, Engineering Clubs and Schools to host such opportunities.
Flinders Christian Community College have also been partnering with Monash High Powered Rocketry all week providing Yr 9 students with a program Michael McLean calls “Carnival of Thinking”. This program would not exist without the very talented Lachlan Thompson. So inspiring to see Lachlan provide students with Hands On Learning activities that help student connect with many facets of Engineering and of course STEM.

I am so grateful to all the providers and presenters that helped us inspire all those that participated. From staff at Flinders Christian Community College to all the companies that include Texas Instruments, IXL, Edunet, SMART, Mindflight7, Leigh Lancaster Consulting, Britanica Education, Pakronics, Cambridge University Press, AI Cubed Academy, Mathspace, Abacus Calculators, Enchanted Aventures, Amaze’n’Things.

Over 20 Schools and 45 plus Teachers participated and we look forward to hearing their takeaways.
“We recognise the strength of collective genius — a principle embedded in Indigenous ways of learning. Knowledge was never built alone; it grew through listening, observing, collaborating, and learning from one another across generations.
In that same spirit, we came together to share ideas, inspire each other, and embrace the powerful opportunities that arise when educators collaborate. May this gathering reflect the wisdom of those who came before us: that learning is strongest when it is shared, and that our collective insight can create pathways far greater than anything we could achieve alone.”
We look forward to seeing this community grow and will explore how we build on this community of practice.
A very heartfelt thank you to all those who either helped contribute or participated in Friday’s event.
