Future of Work Summit – Sydney!

It was great to participate in a second Future of Work Summit in Sydney having participated in the Melbourne Summit.
A theme emerging was the role of the worker and the contribution they will make in 2030. In keeping with the focus on transition, attention was on the skills a worker will require in 2030 and how this will be augmented.
We as a country really should be focusing on building out this infrastructure. I think this slide Michael Priddis shared demonstrates how other countries are leading the way.
“It is less expensive to retrain and redeploy than it is to make redundant and rehire”
Hopefully we will elect parties in the upcoming elections that invest in policies that can be bipartisan and take into account the need for considering the needs of a worker in 2030 and well beyond.
I really appreciated the simplicity of the Atlassian Team Playbook that Dominic Price shared.
In keeping with their values, this is open source at:

Listening to the journey Krista Jones, Managing Director of MaRS, Toronto has been on was inspirational. There’s a city leading the way!
The Chief Disruptor, Anne-Marie Elias encouraged those with the “Lived Experience” to lead the change needed. Loved the passion on this panel for making a difference!
There is so much more I could share…
So much too take in for one day. I’m still digesting the content presented!
