STEM Workshop 3 at BOSCH – Over half way!
Last night many of the students completed their mechanical arm builds and started to learn how to write code for a servo. It was particularly satisfying seeing those students who finished early helping their peers learn what they had just learnt. The benefits of peers teaching one another are well documented and it was great to see this take place last night. On the RTL Facebook page you will see a short video taken with my iPhone capturing some footage of the students learning to write code.
This collaboration is also taking place between sessions in the students’ own time. They are making how to videos and sharing with other students which is to be highly commended. The videos range from “how to make” tasks for arduino to making augmented reality content. We are delighted with the progress and the engagement displayed in these workshops. One student arrived 5 minutes before we were due to start and checked if he was late because all the other students had all arrived and had started working on arrival!
A big thank you again to our committed facilitators from BOSCH, Robogals Monash, VicHyper and RMIT. They are doing a sensational job!
