Monash Motorsport undergraduates inspire middle year students from Boneo PS and Prahran HS to take up engineering!
Earlier this month Monash Motorsport (MMS) in partnership with RTL and other Engineering Clubs that included Monash Nova Rover, Monash Human Power, Monash Unmanned Aerial Systems and Monash High Powered Rocketry showcased diverse applications of engineering at “play” in real world contexts.
Below are photos that capture undergraduates sharing their passion for engineering with students:
What was meant to be a one and a half hour tour became a three hour tour! Engagement levels soared – that is not only the students’ but the undergraduates’ as well.
Where possible the undergraduates sought to create a very immersive and hands on experience.
A huge thank you to Benjamin Wang, Michaela Sykes-Turner and Darcy Burke from MMS for providing these middle year students with such an engaging tour.
These images below showcase students learning about MMS. In February next year students from RTL partner schools will be invited to see MMS compete in a National competition being hosted in Winton.
Zoe Yap and Claude Dabare, RTL facilitators have been very involved in Monash Motorsport.

Angie Aulia, a RTL facilitator at Cornish College was present with her Monash Human Power Club. The students from Boneo PS also compete in HPV and were naturally very interested to learn that HPV was still happening at university.

Akash Ramaswamy and Emily Kuo, former RTL facilitators and RTL Alumni have been very involved in Monash Nova Rover.

Great to have students off screens and in person learning about different applications of engineering.
A huge thank you to undergraduates across clubs for making the students feel so welcome and for providing such inspiration.
